We are thrilled to share the latest updates and achievements from The Cape Community Farm 📆🌱

Led by Adrian, our Farmer, the Community Farm is run by volunteers and enjoyed by the local Cape community and many others from further afield. 
 

🌾 The Farm’s mission: The Cape Community Farm is committed to nurturing sustainable food cultivation, fostering a deep connection to the environment, and cultivating a culture of learning and volunteering within the community. The Community Farm aim to inspire and motivate others to join us on the path to a more sustainable way of life. 🌍🌿
 

🎉 Highlights from Our First Year:

🌱 Over 3,500 kg of produce grown!
🎁 1,234 kg of fresh produce donated to local charities, with a total retail value of $14,493.
💰 Earnings of $4,063 through Saturday morning market sales and the honesty box system.
🌿 70 dedicated members and 144 plots allocated to members!
 

🙏 Volunteering: A big shoutout to our amazing volunteers who contributed a staggering 3,502 hours of their time. Together, we’ve harvested, tended to the market garden, worked in the nursery, organized monthly members’ days, and so much more!

📆 Events and Workshops: From Edible Gardens Bass Coast to Sustainable House Day, we’ve hosted and participated in events that brought our community closer to sustainable living. Our workshops cover various topics to empower everyone with essential gardening skills.

🏫 Tours and Programs: We’ve welcomed 15 schools, involving 230 students, to the farm. These programs offer valuable insights into sustainable food production and encourage young minds to embrace gardening.

🌏 From the Cape Project Team: Our vision is to create an enduring, self-sustaining social enterprise that benefits the community. We’re working on sheltered spaces, a large kitchen, and more to enhance your farm experience.
