Four Cape homes recognised at the 2026 Master Builders Victoria Awards

Four homes at The Cape have been recognised at the 2026 Master Builders Victoria Awards, celebrating the quality of design and construction being achieved within the Cape Paterson community.

Local builder Harris Build received the Best Custom Home $1–2 million award for Seadragon, along with special commendations for Weathertop in the same category and Stargazer in the Best Custom Home $800,000–$1 million category.

TS Constructions also received a Special Commendation for Best Sustainable Home for the Spinifex 8.5-star home.

Together, the awards reflect the care, experience and attention to detail behind the homes being created across the estate.

Designed for life on the coast

Building well on the Bass Coast requires more than creating a beautiful home. Coastal winds, changing weather conditions and the orientation of each site all need to be considered from the earliest stages of design.

Each of the recognised homes responds differently to its location and the needs of the people who live there. While no two homes at The Cape are the same, they share a commitment to thoughtful architecture, quality materials, passive solar design, energy efficiency and year-round comfort.

Three of the four recognised homes were designed by locally owned and operated Adapt Design Group, including Seadragon, Stargazer and Spinifex. While, Weathertop was designed by Sue Mitchell Architects and built by Harris Build.

Quality built through collaboration

The quality of homes at The Cape is also supported by a collaborative approach between the builders and designers working across the estate.

Although each business brings its own ideas and expertise, The Cape encourages a spirit of coopetition. Builders and designers share knowledge, experiences and lessons from previous projects, helping to continually improve the performance and liveability of the homes that follow.

This exchange of knowledge may include approaches to passive solar design, insulation, airtightness, glazing, materials and construction methods suited to coastal conditions. It means the experience gained on one project can help inform the next, while each home remains individually designed for its owners.

The Cape’s established design guidelines and minimum performance standards provide a shared foundation, while still allowing residents the freedom to select their preferred designer and builder and create a home suited to them.

Recognition for local expertise

For Harris Build, the latest awards add to almost a decade of recognition for homes built at The Cape. The builder’s local knowledge and collaborative approach have helped deliver homes shaped by their coastal setting and designed to perform for many years.

TS Constructions has also had a long association with The Cape and a strong record of building highly efficient homes. Its latest special commendation continues a history of recognition for sustainable homes delivered within the estate.

These awards belong not only to the builders, but also to the designers, trades, consultants and homeowners who helped bring each project to life.

They are another example of what can be achieved when good design, local experience and quality construction come together.Top of Form
